Inspiring Change to Restore Well-being
Meet Rona Valdes, MSC
Certified Life Coach & Relationship Counselor
Born in the Philippines and raised in the United States, my life has been shaped by a rich bi-cultural journey and a deep understanding of transition — from East Coast to West Coast, from one career chapter to the next, and from self-doubt to self-trust. I earned my undergraduate degree in Health Science with a concentration in Health Education and began my career doing door-to-door community research. This early work grounded me in the power of listening, connection, and meeting people where they are.
I later became a nurse, spending 18 years as an injection nurse in pediatrics and in women’s health. After more than 20 years in healthcare, I felt called toward a new path — one that honored the emotional and mental health struggles I had witnessed in others and experienced myself, and as a mother. Returning to school was a full-circle, transformational moment that led me to earn my Master’s degree in Counseling and step into work that aligns deeply with my purpose.
I understand what it’s like to struggle with low confidence, burn-out, and mid-life challenges — to feel unsure, scared, or defeated. I believe we are human first, and that our emotions serve a purpose. With awareness and support, we can learn to respond to life differently and more intentionally. As a lifelong learner, warm and compassionate guide, I am deeply committed to empowering individuals to tackle life’s challenges in meaningful ways.
As your life coach and relationship counselor, I specialize in phase-of-life transitions, healthy lifestyle support, and relationship nurturing. My approach is strengths-based and collaborative — focused on your goals, your values, and your inner resilience. Allow me to be your coach, to inspire change, peace, and balance, and to support you in restoring your best self.

Why Choose Coaching?
Coaching differs from therapy in both purpose and approach. Therapy is best suited for those experiencing significant emotional distress, unresolved trauma, or mental health conditions requiring clinical treatment. Coaching, on the other hand, is ideal for individuals who feel mentally well but want guidance to clarify goals, build healthier habits, and enhance performance or fulfillment in their lives. While sessions may briefly acknowledge past experiences to validate emotions, coaching remains solution-focused and forward-looking, emphasizing resources, courage, and possibilities you may not yet see or feel ready to use. Both therapy and coaching can be valuable at different stages of life — therapy for healing, coaching for growth — and understanding these differences can help you choose the path that best supports where you are now.
